The Ollie Method is a therapeutic intervention for wellbeing in children, teens and adults, based on the Ollie and His Superpowers books. It helps children see their emotions as superpowers they can learn to control, rather than something that controls them.
Instead of labelling feelings as "good" or "bad", the Ollie Method teaches children that every emotion serves a purpose. Anger, worry, sadness and excitement all become superpowers that can be understood, dialled up or dialled down. This simple, child-friendly language gives children a way to talk about feelings that might otherwise be overwhelming or hard to express.
As a certified Ollie Coach I use an interactive, strengths-based approach. Sessions are relaxed, fun and tailored to your child's age and interests. Together we explore the emotions your child finds difficult, understand what those feelings are trying to do for them, and practise tools and techniques they can use themselves — at school, at home and anywhere else life takes them.
For younger children there are Ollie dolls and books that families can use to support their child's journey at home, making it easy to keep the conversation going between sessions.
The Ollie Method works well for children and young people experiencing anxiety and worry, anger and big emotions, low confidence and self-esteem, friendship difficulties, sleep problems, school-related stress and change such as moving home or family separation.
